Latest company case about Corrosion-resistant PP Boards Used in Chemical Industry
In the chemical field, PP boards are mainly used for corrosion-resistant equipment manufacturing, lining protection, and fluid transportation, with core advantages of exceptional chemical stability, acid-alkali corrosion resistance, and high cost-effectiveness.

1. Core Application Scenarios

  • Chemical storage tanks and vessels: Processed into 5-20mm thick PP boards to manufacture small storage tanks, metering tanks, and acid-alkali tanks for storing acid-alkali solutions such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and sodium hydroxide. They can also serve as liners for large steel storage tanks (thickness: 10-30mm).
  • Pipes and pipe fittings: Extruded PP pipes and supporting fittings (e.g., elbows, flanges) are used for transporting corrosive media in chemical workshops, with pipe diameters ranging from DN20 to DN500.
  • Corrosion-resistant equipment components: Liners for chemical reactors, stirring paddle blades, equipment operation platform panels, as well as tower bodies and demisting plates of waste gas treatment spray towers (thickness: 8-15mm).
  • Laboratory and workshop facilities: Acid-alkali resistant workbenches and fume hood liners in laboratories, as well as corrosion-resistant trench covers and cofferdam liners in workshops (thickness: 3-10mm).

2. Key Application Advantages

  • Top-tier chemical stability: Resists erosion from most inorganic acids, alkalis, and salt solutions, and is only sensitive to a few strong oxidizing media (e.g., concentrated nitric acid). It can replace expensive stainless steel and FRP materials.
  • Temperature resistance suitable for chemical working conditions: The continuous service temperature can reach 80-100℃, and it can withstand short-term high temperatures of 120℃. It meets the process requirements from normal temperature to medium temperature in chemical production without deformation due to temperature fluctuations.
  • Lightweight and easy to install: With a density of only 0.9-0.92g/cm³, it is more than 70% lighter than metal materials, resulting in low transportation and installation costs. It can be quickly spliced through welding and bonding, ensuring high construction efficiency.
  • Outstanding cost-effectiveness and durability: The raw material cost is lower than that of corrosion-resistant materials such as fluoroplastics and titanium alloys, with a service life of 5-10 years. Its smooth surface prevents scaling, making later maintenance and cleaning simple and reducing operational costs.
